Hey, Earth to Politico…

Nationwide polls on U. S. Senators don’t mean a damn thing.  How ’bout trying an in-state poll with likely voters, ones who would be paying attention to their own Senator.

And of course people outside of Minnesota will be more critical of a U. S. Senator from Minnesota since everyone thinks their congressman/senator is great and everyone else’s suck.

Finally!

About damn time!  And Pawlenty signed the certificate, even though he was wishy-washy on whether he would.

Come back and get what’s coming to you!

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I suspect that Norm is soon going to be yelling “I’ll bite your legs off!” as Al Franken and everyone else just ignores him.

Verb: The dogged pursuit of a hopeless goal, with utter disregard for a preponderance of contradicting evidence and mounting public distain. (see George W. Bush and Iraq)

Coleman files appeal

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Suprise suprise.  But here’s the infuriating part:

“We do believe the district court got it wrong on the law, because the Minnesota tradition in law is to franchise people and their decision disenfranchises people whose votes were wrongly discarded,” Coleman attorney Ben Ginsberg said in an afternoon conference call. “Different rules were used by different jurisdiction to create an equal protection violation.”

That reasoning is the one behind Bush v. Gore, which the Supreme Court advised not to use as a legal precedent.  Are they really taking Michelle Bachmann’s law advice (from a woman who got her J. D. at a fake law school) and invoking Bush v. Gore?

Michelle Bachmann leads the state congressional delegate in fundraising, and the DFL is getting ready in her district for a rematch with Elwin Tinklenberg.

Governor Pawlenty is deciding between running for a third term as Governor or running for President.  Because of this, he’s low on the list of likely contenders for the nomination.  He wasn’t pushed down for letting this damn Senate race go on forever.

I hate to tell Norm, but we DO know who won the Senate election and you’re too much of a wuss to admit you lost.  As he prepares to go to the State Supreme Court after losing again, two of the justices have recused themselves because it turns out they donated to Coleman.  Former Senator David Durenburger, who knows something about everyone calling for you to quit, empathizes, but he’s not happy about the dragged out contest and calls Sen. John Cornyn a “jerk.”

All in all, 63% of recipients of this poll want Coleman to concede.

Coleman and Sheehan v. Franken

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Does anyone else find it strange that Norm Coleman’s campaign manager is listed as a contester along with Coleman in the decision handed down today, while Al Franken is the only listed contestee?  Either way, the district court confirmed that Al Franken recieved more votes than Norm Coleman last november (hence he is, as the Strib put it, “the lead vote-getter’) and is entitled to a Certificate of election (Gov. Pawlenty isn’t signing one so long as Coleman keeps up this fight, and Coleman said that he plans to appeal).

A long euphemism for “won”

“lead vote-getter”

Contrary to popular opinion

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Minnesotans are not too polite to say that John Cornyn is a piece of shit.  And I had no idea Tim Pawlenty was contemplating a run for President in 2012.
